I heard the news today - oh boy!
The famous blue sweater strategy has gained momentum. Previously, Harper and the premiers had acrimonious interactions. But suddenly, there is a kinder, gentler post-election P.M. The provincial premiers were completely disarmed. They expected pitbull Harper and instead, Mr Fuzzy Listening Guy showed up.
In today's media accounts of the premiers' meeting with the P.M., one fact emerges. They agreed to agree.
When pushed by reporters to name one specific action that will be undertaken, one commitment by the federal government or one request that will be fulfilled, none of the premiers could provide an example. "Rien de concret mais pas de chicane." read one headline. Granted, expectations were indeed very low.
But a good time was had by all.
