Get your fill of apparent false arrest, wrongful imprisonment, forcible confinement, and lousy labour relations here. When these guys talk "rollback," I hadn't realized that they meant it chronologically.
In the Canadian case, Section 494 of the Criminal Code applies: the citizens' arrest carried out by the two baby-cops had to be "reasonable" for it to be legal. The Palm Bay man, on the other hand, seems to be the victim of wrongful dismissal. I hope the Ottawa parents and the old guy in Florida have good lawyers, although it certainly appears from the reports that even passable ones would do the trick.
