"88" is the gematria of the neo-Nazi two-digit IQ set, standing for HH--Heil Hitler. Von Brunn signed off that way.

It was also the disgusting creature's age when he got himself killed shot. No doubt he was bucking for Randy Weaver-like immortality.

And he's already got it--sort of.
